BASIC BEEF MIX

 

¾ cup instant nonfat dry milk

1-cup quick rolled oats, uncooked

1 cup tomato juice            

2 tbsp. Minced onion

¼ tsp. Pepper

2 tsp. Salt

2 pounds ground beef

Combine all ingredients except meat & mix well.  Add meat, mix well.  Shape into desired shape (loaf or balls) using recipe.

SPRUCED UP MEATLOAF

1 Recipe basic beef mixture

½ cup catsup

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar or mozzarella cheese

Spread mix in foil lined 13 X 9-inch pan.  Spread with catsup & sprinkle with cheese; roll up meat in jellyroll fashion.  Place roll, open edge down, in greased shallow pan.  Bake at 350 about 1 ¼ hours.  Makes 8 servings.
