SOUTHERN PECAN PIE2 Tbsp. Butter 2 Tbsp. Flour 1 Cup light corn syrup 1 cup pecan halves ¾ tsp salt 1 cup brown sugar 4 eggs, well beaten 1 tsp. Vanilla 1 unbaked 9 “ pastry shell Work butter in a bowl until creamy, stir in sugar and lour. Mix well, add syrup and eggs. Beat until mixture is fluffy. Save a few of the choicest pecan, then stir remaining nuts, vanilla and salt into syrup mixture. Pour into pastry shell. Bake in a hot oven (400) 15 minutes. Remove from oven and decorate top of pie with the choice pecans. Reduce heat to moderate (350) and bake 30-35 minutes longer until center is firm. |
