ONION, APPLE & SAUSAGE BAKE3 medium (8-10 oz. Each) sweet onions Boiling, salted water 1 pound turkey sausage ¼ tsp. Seasoned salt ¼ tsp. Pepper 1 tsp. Paprika ½ tsp. Each thyme and sage 2 tsp. vegetable oil 3 tart apples, sliced crosswise into ¼ inch slices 1/3 cup brown sugar ¼ tsp. Nutmeg 2 tbsp. Orange juice 2 tbsp. Margarine, melted Peel onions & slice ¼-inch thick. Cook onions in boiling salted water for 5 minutes. Drain. Combine turkey with seasoned salt, pepper, paprika, thyme and sage. Shape into patties. Pan fry in oil until light brown. Arrange onions, sausage patties and sliced apples in 2-quart casserole. Sprinkle with brown sugar and nutmeg. Drizzle with orange juice and margarine. Cover and bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 to 20 minutes longer. Makes 6 servings. |
