MILLION DOLLAR COOKIES

1 cup shortening (1/2 C. butter, ½ C shortening)

½ cup white sugar             ½ cup brown sugar

1 egg                               2 cups flour

½ tsp. Soda                      ½ tsp. Salt

1 tsp. Vanilla

Cream shortening and sugars together.  Add egg and vanilla.  Mix together flour, soda, salt and add to mixture.  Form dough into balls.  Roll generously in fine sugar.  Put on cookie sheet and press flat with bottom of glass.  Dip glass in sugar to prevent sticking.  Bake about 8 minutes at 350..  Makes 4 dozen.
