CHRISTMAS DIVINITY1 small box Jello, 3 cups sugar (any flavor) ¾ cup boiling water ¾ cup light Karo syrup 2 egg whites Place sugar syrup and water in large saucepan. Heat over medium heat and stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Bring to a boil, place lid over pan until steam washes all of sugar crystals from side of pan, 4 to 5 minutes. While syrup is boiling beat egg whites until foamy then add jello and continue beating until stiff. When syrup reaches the hard ball stage, pour immediately into egg white mixture. Pour in slowly, as you beat it. Continue beating until it looses its gloss and holds its shape. Be careful not to over beat or you will get crumbly candy. Drop very quickly by teaspoon onto waxed paper. Let dry & harden. |
