Apple Glaze Cookies

½ Cup shortening              ½ tsp. Salt

1 1/3 C brown. Sugar        1 tsp. cinnamon

1 egg, unbeaten                 1 tsp. Cloves

1 tsp. Vanilla                     ½ tsp. nutmeg

1 cup peeled, chopped       2 ½ cup flour

   apples                           1 cup chopped walnuts

¼ cup milk                       1 cup raisins

1 tsp. Soda

Glaze:     1 ½ cup powdered sugar

             1 tsp. Vanilla

             2 ½ tsp. Milk

Cream shortening & brown sugar together.  Add egg & vanilla.  Mix dry ingredients together.  Stir half of dry ingredients into creamed mixture.  Add remaining dry ingredients alternately with milk.  Stir in nuts, raisins & apples.  Drop by spoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet.  Bake 8 – 10 min. at 400.  While cookies are still hot, spread glaze on top with
